Policy Advisor and Project Manager/Senior Advisor

Langsikt is applying for two new positions as policy advisor and project manager/senior advisor at KI and other emerging technologies.

We want to strengthen the team with two new positions: 1) a policy advisor on artificial intelligence and 2) project manager or advisor/senior adviser on emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and synthetic biology. Langsikt is currently a nine-year think tank, but in the autumn Anders Eidesvik, our advisor on artificial intelligence, will lose to Silicon Valley. We also see greater opportunities in emerging technologies than we have the capacity to work with.

In recent years, we have seen tremendous developments in artificial intelligence and synthetic biology, and we want to ensure that technological developments going forward give us the most of the benefits with the least possible negative consequences. Langsikt has a global perspective, and looks for policy initiatives in Norway that will have a major influence on how emerging technologies will affect the world.

You will work with a skilled and committed team, including two of the leading mediators in the field: Aksel Braanen Sterri and Sigrid Bratlie. We work on societal analysis, setting the agenda and influencing policy. We publish notes, write chronicles and advise politicians, civil servants and business. Among the earlier notes are”Will the growth of KI continue“and”Opportunities and threats from new biotechnology“.

As political advisor you will work on influencing policy processes and gaining impact for long-term and knowledge-based policies in the field of artificial intelligence. We are particularly looking for someone with political flair and significant communication skills. Ideally, you have experience in politics, organizational life or journalism. You must not be an expert in artificial intelligence, but have a distinct interest and be willing to learn.

We are also looking for a project manager or advisor/senior advisor who can lead parts of our work on emerging technologies, including KI and synthetic biology. Here we are looking for someone with more experience in project work, analysis, stakeholder dialogue and strategy, combined with or instead of experience from policy and management.

About us

The think-tank Langsikt is a politically independent organisation working for a better and safer future. We focus on topics that we believe are politically under-prioritised, but which are of great importance, in Norway and globally, both now and in the future. Our three main areas are:

  1. Politics for the Voiceless. We will develop and promote initiatives that better safeguard the interests of future generations and animals; groups that lack a voice in political decision-making.
  2. Existential threats. We will develop and promote measures that reduce the likelihood of existential threats, such as pandemics, advanced artificial intelligence and extreme climate change.
  3. Global welfare. We will develop and promote initiatives that contribute to increased global welfare, particularly in the areas of aid, innovation and research, and technological development that benefits society.

Langsikt has a strong team with backgrounds in politics, media, research and business, including Sigrid Bratlie, Aksel Braanen Sterri, Eirik Mofoss and Sondre Hansmark. We also have a solid professional advice who assist us in professional matters, including Camilla Stoltenberg, Christer Tryggestad and Steinar Holden.
